Our Soap

We make small batch, handcrafted bar soaps, starting out with friends and family, and now sharing with the world!

Our soaps have subtle hints of fragrance based on the characteristics of the individual soap, with a few exceptions where noted. All oils and additives are food grade and free from animal testing, acquired from reputable suppliers, in the US and Canada, but some products are native to only particular parts of the world - like Argan Oil from Morocco.

Other special items, like herbs, honey, flowers, and beeswax are sourced locally from our garden or woods, local markets, small businesses, anywhere that sparks imagination.

The beer in our Cheers! soaps is made from locally produced breweries, we save a bit and drink the rest, it’s a really great perk of the job. We support breweries that also give back locally, one favorite is in Maryland called Milkhouse Brewery, where they source locally grown grain to create all their varieties.

Eggs in the Hello Duckie! soap are delivered randomly from our happy ducks, quacking away on our property.

In the spring, we collect and infuse dandelions into oils to give a special quality to our bars of soap and balms. The smell is intoxicating, like honey after a few weeks infusing in the sunshine.

Why purchase handmade soap?

  1. I’m using what you are using. My goal is to slather myself in happy and nourishing oils and ingredients, not crazy-ass-long-name chemicals. Join me.

  2. I am able to buy in bulk and recycle or reuse anything I can.

  3. My packaging is recycled and/or reused paper. I save everything.

  4. Support small business. You support me, I support local business. It is a cycle and we all contribute to a happy and sustainable world.

  5. Feedback. It is important - like something, don’t like something? Tell me. I’m just one click away!

Sustainable soap

One example of using local ingredients!

This soap makes use of beer and coffee grounds to become an effective smells and oils fighter. Not really a body soap, unless you’ve been bathing in motor oil, I suppose.

Appalachian Beer Company is a local brewery here in Pennsylvania, they have a lot of great beers. I created a soap with this chocolate stout which makes a nice rich brown and adds just a subtle earthy scent in the final product.

Cheers!
